Vioxx® - What You Need To Know
September 30, 2004 Merck, the manufacturer of Vioxx®, announced that the drug would be immediately pulled from the market following a review of a three-year study which identified Vioxx as a defective drug which increased patient risk of heart attack, suddent cardiac death and stroke.
Patients taking Vioxx should contact their primary care physician to discuss other treatment options. Patients should continue taking their medication until advised otherwise by their physician.
